On Friday, June 12, 2020, the Hi Pro Division of the Jamaica Broilers Group launched the Grow Strong Initiative in which the company will donate a total of 78 tonnes of Hi Pro feeds, seeds, fungicides, herbicides and insecticides  through grow strong farm kits at a total product value of $23.6M.

Hi-Pro will partner with agricultural agencies to include RADA, JAS, the Dairy Board, Jamaica Egg Farmers Association, Jamaica Pig Farmers Association, Small Ruminants Association of Jamaica and 4-H Clubs for the disbursement of the input materials. 

For Phase 1 of the initiative, starting June – August 2020, the requisite farmers association will receive 2 ½ tons of animal feed each for distribution to farmers.

While in Phase 2, September – October, each agricultural agency (to include RADA) will receive 75 grow strong kits each month for distribution to small farmers. Over 350 dealers will also receive 50 grow strong kits along with 8 tons of broiler feed for small chicken farmers. 

In addition, in Phase 2 the Jamaica 4-H Clubs will also receive support in its agricultural projects. Other projects that are beneficiaries of initiatives through the Jamaica Broilers Group include children’s homes and juvenile facilities.
