Serious farmers sought to focus on the serious business of agriculture at the RADA Portland Agro- Product Development Forum held on December 7, 2016 at Tim Bamboo, Port Antonio.
Agricultural Stakeholders made practical and useful presentations on opportunities in agriculture for product development to move the sector to the next level.
In a message by Minister of Industry Commerce, Agriculture and Fisheries, Hon. Karl Samuda, it was mentioned that “the time has come to create strong agro-based industries that are viable and sustainable”.
He urged stakeholders to be a marketplace of ideas that facilitates networking and create linkages between existing and developing product and service providers.
At the Ja Reach 11 Project Sponsored event, other agricultural stakeholders represented were from: the Scientific Research Council,Promotion of Regional Opportunities for Produce through Enterprises and Linkages (PROPEL), Exim Bank Jamaica, Jamaica Social Investment Fund, Department of Cooperative and Friendly Societies, Carib Agro – Distributors and H2K Agro Jamaica.
