At the first official National Irish Potato and OnionĀ  Production Seminar held in Guy's Hill Town Hall, St. Catherine on Wednesday, October 11, 2017, Minister Hutchinson initiated the Agricultural Push Start Programme.

This programme has the main aim of giving interested persons to include women and youth a start to pursue the business of agriculture.

In providing opportunities for self-improvement, social empowerment and community development, Minister Hutchinson mentioned that the focus will be on the production of irish potato, onion and scotch bonnet peppers.

RADA will also provide the requisite technical service and training of these new entrants in agriculture. The programme has been conceptualized to grow agriculture by 30%.
