The Farming as a Business Training Course facilitated by Promotion of Regional Opportunities for Produce through Enterprises and Linkages (PROPEL) in partnership with Jamaica Rural and Ecosystems Adapting to Climate Change JA REACH11 allowed for comprehensive training of twenty five (25) RADA Extension Staff, Marketing Manager and Post-Harvest Specialist from January 15 – 19, 2018 at the Eltham Training Centre In St. Ann.
Topics covered included: Planning for the Farm Business, Business Data and Partnerships and Marketing and Contracts, among others. Participants engaged in group sessions, simulations and interactive presentations to enable effective learning. Certificates of participation and merits were also given at the workshop closure.
From this Train the Trainer workshop farmers will also gain the opportunity of being trained (within the coming month) by participants and become exposed to some key insights into the effective operation of their businesses.
