Featured Farmers' Month
April is celebrated as Farmers' Month. It is a time wherein stakeholders in the agricultural sector salute and place significant spotlight on farmers and their contribution to national development.

This year the Rural Agricultural Development Authority in collaboration with the Jamaica Agricultural Society and Newport Fersan will host a series of activities in honour of our farmers.

These include:

Church Service

The first official activity will be a Church Service to be held on April 7, 2019 at Linstead New Testament Church, Commodore, Linstead, St. Catherine, commencing at 9am.


Farmers Month will be launched on April 3, 2019, at the Jamaica Agricultural Society 10 am . Mr. Peter Thompson, RADA Chief Executive Office will give an Endorsement at this function.

Public Lecture

RADA will conduct a Public Lecture on April 10, 2019 at the Shared Facilities Lecture Theatre of the University of Technology commencing at 1pm. The Guest Lecturer will be Professor Michael Taylor. Farmers from Portland, St. Thomas, St. Andrew and St. Catherine are invited to attend.

Farmers' Sale Day

Newport Fersan will conduct a Sale Day for Farmers on April 17, 2019 at Newport Fersan Corporate Office, 2A/2B Wherry Wharf Complex, Newport East, Kingston 15. RADA and JAS Farmers with legitimate identification will receive discount on purchase.

Print Supplement

A Supplement will be published on April 24, 2019 in the Jamaica Gleaner showcasing activities within Farmers' Month.
