RADA at Denbigh Show 2023

As an integral partner in the organization of the Denbigh Show for many decades, RADA continued to participate by showcasing the best of agriculture in the 13 Parish Pavillions along with the Corporate Office RADA booth at this years’ 69th staging of Denbigh Show which took place on August 5-7, 2023 at the Denbigh Showgrounds, May Pen Claredon.

The RADA showcase sought to focus on practical ways to bring the theme for this years’ show to life and this was “Grow What You Eat, Eat What You Grow” featuring the Food Security, Agribusiness Development, Climate Resilience and Export Potential. This was done through daily seminars, practical demonstrations and face to face interactions with patrons.

During a greeting by Mr. Winston Simpson, Chief Executive Officer, RADA on Day 1, the Ministers’ Day of the event, he mentioned “a show such as this has become the melting pot for related interests to showcase synergies in agriculture, for suppliers and consumers to gain effective face to face interactions and to allow for the successful introduction of new products to the market”.

On the second day of the event, August 6th, the Governor General’s Day, RADA, Mr. Dermon Spence, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries, the Jamaica 4-H Clubs were among the distinguished organizations and persons who were honoured by the Jamaica Agricultural Society for the outstanding contribution made to the hosting of the Denbigh Show over the years.

A hearty congratulations to Clarendon, 1st place, St. James, 2nd place and St. Ann 3rd place for their outstanding displays and stellar performance  in the Rudolph Burke Parish Competition that was announced on the final day, Prime Ministers’ Day of the event. The other Parishes were impressive and must be commended in their showcase and efforts to represent at the event.

With visits by renowned officials to include the Hon. Floyd Green, Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Mining, Mr. Mark Golding, Opposition Leader, the Most Honourable Andrew Holness, Prime Minister among others along with farmers, agricultural enthusiasts and youths, Denbigh 69 was a spectacular showcase to behold. We hope to see you at next years’ Show.
