Job Purpose:
Under the direction of the Manager – Procurement (Local), the Inventory Officer supports the Procurement Unit by receiving, recording, storing and securing goods and delivering same to the appropriate officers or their approved agents and securing signed acknowledgement as receipt thereof.
Key Responsibility Areas:
Management/ Administrative Responsibilities
- Reports any breaches of the Store’s security
- Prepares monthly Inventory Reports
- Ensures that all aspects of security is observed to protect the integrity of the security system operating in the Store
Technical/ Professional Responsibilities
Strategic/ Administrative Support
- Checks files for expired motor vehicle documents
- Prepares requisitions for goods and services
- Assists in preparing purchase orders
- Assists in obtaining quotations
- Receives goods supplied
- Ensures that goods received are appropriately logged and stored
- Delivers goods to appropriate officers in compliance with the established rules and guidelines
- Maintains accurate record of goods delivered to staff
- Reports irregularities of the delivery and receipts of goods
- Ensures the required level of security is maintained in the building housing the Store
- Makes contact with officers and parish offices regarding the receipt, storage and delivery of goods
- Do periodic reconciliation of the Store’s Inventory Record
- Completes the prescribed forms with re-order level information
- Assists in determining re-order levels
Minimum Required Education and Experience
A Diploma in Business Administration
A minimum of four (4) passes in GCE Ordinary Level/CXC General Proficiency including English Language and Mathematics
