Under the direction of the Director - Public Procurement, the Inventory Officer supports the Procurement Unit by receiving, recording, storing and securing goods and delivering same to the appropriate officers or their approved agents and securing signed acknowledgement as receipt thereof.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintains the Department’s inventory system;
- Prepares and updates Master Inventory List;
- Creates Location Records for all office furniture & equipment;
- Marks/labels furniture and equipment to ensure RADA’s ownership;
- Keeps record of inventory transferred/removed to other locations;
- Issues and updates annual inventory record to ensure that the RADA’s assets are accounted for;
- Conducts periodically inventory checks at all locations in order to maintain an updated inventory record;
- Prepares and submits document/list for the Board of Survey to the Ministry of Finance seeking approval for the disposal of obsolete furniture and equipment;
- Update Location Records when fixed assets are temporarily or permanently removed;
- Reassign fixed assets as directed;
- Provide advice and guidance on the classification and treatment of fixed assets.
REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND COMPETENCIES
- Knowledge of Government’s Policies and Procedures;
- Knowledge of Inventory Management;
- Knowledge of Records Management;
- Knowledge of Supplies Management;
- Proficiency in the use of relevant computer software including spread sheet and other computer applications.
MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Associate/Diploma in Public Administration/Management Studies or equivalent;
- Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in Stores Management.
OR
- Training in Supplies Management;
- Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in Store Management.
